Getting gas is something that almost everyone does. Unless you’re driving a Tesla around or walking everywhere, you probably fill up weekly. Getting gas is like paying taxes. It’s inevitable. But why not cash in and earn some free money while you’re filling up? Today, we’re going to talk about the app that lets you do just that!
The app we’re talking about today is called GetUpside. GetUpside is a great way to earn up to 30¢ cash back on gas. It’s so easy! All you have to do is download the app, claim an offer, check-in once you arrive, and pay with the card you have on file with the app. Then after 2–4 days, the cashback hits your account.
1. Claim Your Offer 🎟️
Before you start seeing the dough roll in, you have to claim an offer at a local business. The app makes this super easy. All you have to do is browse the map feature from within the app and click “claim offer.” After you claim an offer, you’ll have four hours to check-in before having to reclaim the offer. We recommend finding businesses with offers that are close to you. You don’t want to drive way out of your way just to save a couple of bucks. But if you’re going right past a gas station offering 30 cents of a gallon, it makes sense to cash in!
2. Pay As Usual 💳
There has to be a way that the GetUpside folks know you actually went to the business to get the offer you claimed. They get this information through your bank. All you have to do is add your card information to the app. After you make your purchase, GetUpside will be able to see the transaction.
3. Check-In or Upload Receipts 🧾
Once you arrive at the business, you’ll have to check-in. After you check-in, you’ll have about 20 minutes to complete your purchase (it’s plenty of time). Depending on the business you go to, you might have to upload a picture of the receipt.
4. Earn Cashback 💰
After the purchase is made, and you’re on to the next place, GetUpside will verify your purchase. They do this all behind the scenes, so don’t worry, you won’t have to do anything. But after about 2–4 days, check your account dashboard within the app. You’ll have your cash right there to claim! Cash payouts occur through PayPal or by check. If you want a gift card, there are plenty of merchants like Amazon, Domino’s, and Starbucks to choose from.
